NAME Joel Emmett Aitcheson.
REINCARNATION OF Logan Echolls.
T.V. SHOW Veronica Mars.
AGE & BIRTHDAY 16, 14th April.
HOUSE Slytherin.
FAMILY Parents, Colin and Rose (nee Bole) Aitcheson are rich, upper class purebloods who have maintained a relationship with Rose's brother, Devereux and his wife, Susan, over the years. Hence Joel knows cousins Artemis and Blythe Bole well, and has something of a sibling-like relationship with them, even though he himself is an only child.

HISTORY Colin Aitcheson, Professional Beater of the Falmouth Falcons met Rose Bole via her parents, actually. The Aitchesons lived in the Scottish Borders (but Colin and his family relocated to Cornwall) and were fiercely proud of their pureblooded status in both the first and second war with Lord Voldemort, even going so far as some members supporting the Dark Lord and being inducted into his service. Colin himself was too young to participate, but he lost a brother to the cause, and his uncle was incarcerated in Azkaban, found guilty for crimes against Muggle-borns amongst various other charges. The Aitchesons, as Colin knew them, had a history of physical discipline, short-tempers and no moral consciences.

Colin himself was no exception. While he loved his wife and son (or so he said), he was entirely dedicated to his sport to the point of such severe imbalance that he and Rose gradually grew more and more distant and he would take out the frustrations of his losses on his family. Joel seemed to cop the worst of it, and endured not only emotional abuse but on occasion, physical. He never mentions the height of his family's dysfunction if he can, for Colin is still a Professional Beater and therefore, all the Aitchesons remain in the public eye. Not only that, but Joel simply doesn't want people to know - or to pity him for it.

Growing up, therefore, was not the idealistic - or even near-blissful experience for Joel as it may have been for his friends, and though he had access to anything and everything he wanted, he paid a heavier price for it. When he recieved his letter granting him acceptance to attend Hogwarts the summer before his first year, Joel's excitement was infectious and uncontainable. It was finally a chance to get away from the insanity of his immediate family. He expected to be sorted into Slytherin, and was only intrigued by the prospect of the Sorting Hat briefly considering Ravenclaw for a quarter of a second before firmly choosing his present House.

In comparison to his home life, Joel found Hogwarts to be almost Utopian. He found his niche easily, managed to get by in classes lazily and inconsistently pulled a few exceptional grades (and, the rest of the time, pulled mediocre ones not worthy of note). He even tried out for the Quidditch team in his second year, and was used as a Reserve during the Hufflepuff/Slytherin match, and to his great credit - managed to both stay on his broom, keep down the nerves, fly well and block several goals. His efforts payed off and he was recruited to the first-string the following year after their previous Keeper had graduated.

At around his fourth year, Joel began to notice Evelyn Daniels. His notice developed into a crush, which he actually did something about - and won a whole new level of respect from his peers - and asked her out. She accepted and they dated for the duration of the year. They kept in contact for the first two weeks of summer, when suddenly - Evelyn broke up with Joel and refused to see him or talk to him. He later determined that her best friend, Viola (whom he was previously good friends with) must have informed her of his infidelity in kissing another girl. Ever since the break up and Evelyn's dodgy disappearence that summer, Joel grew increasingly antagonistic towards Viola, finding any and all reasons to continue to hold disdain for her.
PERSONALITY On first impression, some people might assume that Joel's really just an arrogant, rich, bully who just happens to have an enviable vocabulary and a cutting wit. Others might see an attractive Bad Boy with the potential for 'reformation', who's charisma and ability to withstand peer pressure are endearing characteristics. To be perfectly honest, both first impressions have merit. Joel's a little contradictory - owing to the emotional mess he's been surrounded by and the lack of good parenting on Colin and Rose's part.

Most importantly, Joel doesn't care what other's think. He's not one to cater to the whims of his friends and family if he doesn't see the immediate benefit in for himself. He's cunning yes, but not reserved. In fact, he's quite an impulsive person, and this carelessness is apt to get him in a great deal of trouble. Although he has wit, and is known for his snarky attitude, he doesn't always have tact and tends to hurt people due to it. The only time he feels guilty about it, though, is if it's someone he actually cares about - and in general, there aren't too many people he does care about.

This is a mode of defense for Joel. He is cynical and snarky and hides behind it. Just as easily as he can draw people to him, he is similarly adept at pushing them very far away. His smart arse attitude often lands him in hot water, not that he really cares, and he suffers from the inability to shut his mouth right when it would be wise to do so. He almost seems fearless, or else highly foolish - but he does possess moments of wisdom and a funny sense of courage that you wouldn't quite expect from a Slytherin. However, his primary function is still self-preservation and his serving own personal ambitions.

His morality is neither here nor there. He'll take revenge if he feels it owed to him and use people if they allow him to for little more than self-gratification. It would be best to describe it as determined on the circumstances of his personal gain, to an extent. He does draw lines about certain things. Joel isn't the most compassionate person in the world, and has been described as the "obligatory psychotic jackass" who does flaunt his wealth and will bully weaker peers if he feels like it.

He is, however, an extremely loyal friend - although, you wouldn't know it if you didn't know him well and when he does love someone, he doesn't hold back. He also expects both loyalty and love to be returned when offered, and holds grudges when they aren't.

APPEARANCE Although 'self-assured' and 'cocky' are personality traits, so dominant are they that they have seeped into Joel's physicality too. He can generally be found dressed in a mocking smirk, and expensive albeit smart casual threads. Tall, and owning a good posture, he's still one to slump in his chair in class out of boredom. He's happy enough with his athletic body build - and doesn't care either way that his eyes and hair are both dark brown, and is only glad he didn't turn out ginger, like his mother.
PLAYED-BY Ed Westwick.

QUIDDITCH & CLUBS Slytherin Keeper.
PLOT IDEAS? I'd be interested in playing out to some extent the relationship Joel would have with Viola! Aside from that, I don't have many preliminary ideas but I know once I get started, I will bring more to the table.

JOURNAL ENTRY:
Howzat song go? "I see trees of green and red roses too! I see the sky... And it's so blue?"

I'm pretty sure that whole second half is wrong.

Well, anyway. I'm not here to chronicle past Muggle music. I'm here to say what a piss weekend it is so far.

Who doesn't have homework here, raise a hand, eh? You know what you hand-raisers are? NERDS OF THE HIGHEST DEGREE. Yes, Dweeby McDweebface of the McDweebs... I'm talking to you.

I suppose it's only natural. What with the fabulous birthday bash (props to Smellodie. You looked lovely, dear) and the rather-good-actually Hogsmeade Weekend I spent with a most dazzling chum of mine (honestly, belle).

And would you all believe it? It's the Week and A Day Anniversary of Albus and Whatshername Albus' Bird. I hear they were selling t-shirts in the courtyard if any of you strange Team Albus folks are interested. Am I kidding? Am I being serious? Pop by at the courtyard, and discover for yourself.
